Market Signals are editorial, not offers. Each reports what a manufacturer published, or what we observed, on the date shown. Terms, eligibility and availability are set by the manufacturer and the selling dealer.

Honda Financial Services is leasing the 2026 Prologue AWD Touring at $339 a month for 36 months, with $5,099 due at signing and 10,000 miles a year, through November 2, 2026. Current owners of a 2011 or newer Honda, or of a Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Hyundai, Jeep, Kia, Mazda, Nissan, RAM, Subaru, Tesla, Toyota or Volkswagen, qualify for a $2,000 Loyalty/Conquest award that brings the same lease to $279 a month with the same amount due. Honda publishes that award for California residents; it takes a current registration or proof of insurance, not a trade-in. Buyers financing through Honda get 0.99% APR for up to 60 months, which Honda's example puts at $17.09 a month per $1,000 financed. Honda has said 2026 is the Prologue's final model year.

The lease is where Honda put its money. Honda's published example for the $339 payment states a total suggested retail price of $48,595, a net capitalized cost of $33,819.81, and a purchase option at lease end of $22,839.65, which is 47% of the suggested price after three years. Worked back from those figures, the rent charge is a money factor of about 0.00060. Converted to an APR, that is roughly 1.4%, near the 0.99% Honda offers buyers. That is our arithmetic on Honda's example, not a figure Honda states, and dealer participation can move the actual payment.

The residual is the number that matters on a model that is ending. It is fixed in the contract for a car Honda will no longer be building when the lease is up. If a 2026 Prologue is worth less than $22,839.65 in 2029, the lessee returns it and the difference stays with Honda Financial Services. If it is worth more, the lessee can buy it at that price.

The $2,000 also applies to Honda financing. It does not apply to a cash purchase.

First-time EV drivers may have one more piece. The California Air Resources Board lists Honda as offering its MyFirstEV incentive on new vehicles, as of its September 25, 2026 update. MyFirstEV is for buyers and lessees who have never had a zero-emission vehicle on a registration or title, and it caps eligible new vehicles at $50,000 MSRP, with an exemption for California-headquartered zero-emission vehicle companies. The Prologue EX starts at $39,900 and the Touring at $44,200, both under the cap; the Elite starts at $50,400. CARB says it stacks with incentives outside its own programs. Honda sets the amount and the eligible trims, so both get confirmed at the dealer.

The Oracle take

Honda built this program for lessees, which is the opposite of what Volkswagen did with the ID.4. Volkswagen put its money into a bonus and left the lease at a standard rate. Honda put its money into the lease itself: a special rate, and a residual it has to honor on a car it has stopped building. A buyer at 0.99% gets inexpensive money and keeps the question of what a final-year Prologue is worth in five years. A lessee hands that question to Honda Financial Services for three years. The constraint is mileage. Ten thousand miles a year is a low allowance for an EV that becomes the household commuter, and every mile over costs 20 cents, so a high-mileage driver should price the overage before choosing the lease. If you own a 2011 or newer vehicle from one of the listed brands, the $2,000 award is the first thing to confirm before November 2.

Questions about this signal

Can I still lease a Honda Prologue now that Honda is ending it?

Yes. Honda has said 2026 is the Prologue's final model year, and Honda Financial Services is leasing the 2026 Prologue AWD Touring through November 2, 2026 at $339 a month for 36 months with $5,099 due at signing. The lease-end value is fixed in the contract, so what a final-year Prologue is worth when the lease ends is the lessor's risk, not yours.

Who qualifies for Honda's $2,000 Prologue Loyalty/Conquest offer?

Current owners of a 2011 or newer Honda, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Hyundai, Jeep, Kia, Mazda, Nissan, RAM, Subaru, Tesla, Toyota or Volkswagen, shown by a current registration or proof of insurance. No trade-in is required. It applies to a lease or financing through Honda Financial Services, not a cash purchase. It runs through November 2, 2026.
