Market Signals are editorial, not offers. Each reports what a manufacturer published, or what we observed, on the date shown. Terms, eligibility and availability are set by the manufacturer and the selling dealer.

Kia America is giving buyers of a new 2026 EV9 or Niro EV a choice through November 2, 2026: $10,000 Customer Cash toward the purchase, or a 0% rate through Kia Finance America. On the EV9, 0% runs up to 60 months and comes with $5,000 APR Bonus Cash. On the Niro EV, it runs up to 72 months with $3,500 APR Bonus Cash. Kia says the offers may not be combined, so the rate gives up $5,000 of the cash on the EV9 and $6,500 on the Niro EV. Neither offer applies to a lease.

The rate is for well-qualified buyers, and Kia's terms say only a limited number of customers will qualify for it. The contract must be signed, and the car delivered from dealer stock, by November 2. Longer terms carry a rate: on the EV9, 0.49% to 66 months, 0.90% to 72 and 1.99% to 84; on the Niro EV, 1.99% to 84.

Which route costs less depends on the amount financed and on the rate the buyer could get elsewhere. Our arithmetic on Kia's terms: on an EV9 at $55,000, financed in full over 60 months, 0% costs less than taking the cash unless the buyer could borrow below about 4.2%. On a Niro EV at $40,000 over 72 months, that line sits near 6.7%. Experian's Q2 2026 data puts the average new-car rate at 4.41% for super prime borrowers and 6.15% for prime. A buyer with the credit to qualify for Kia's 0% is likely near the first figure. That puts the rate ahead on the EV9, narrowly at the starting price and by more on the higher trims, and the cash ahead on the Niro EV. A buyer paying cash has no rate to weigh and takes the $10,000.

First-time EV buyers have one more piece on the Niro EV. The California Air Resources Board lists Kia as offering MyFirstEV on new vehicles, as of its September 25, 2026 update, and Kia shows $3,500 off the Niro EV for eligible first-time buyers. CARB caps eligible new vehicles from manufacturers headquartered outside California at a $50,000 MSRP. The Niro EV starts at $39,700 and the EV9 at $54,900, so the EV9 does not qualify. CARB says MyFirstEV stacks with incentives outside its own programs; whether it sits alongside Kia's cash or rate on a given deal gets confirmed at the dealer.

The Oracle take

Kia is funding the same purchase two ways and letting the buyer pick, and the right pick differs by model. On the EV9, the rate costs $5,000 of the cash, and a larger loan makes 0% worth more, so a well-qualified buyer financing most of the price should start with the rate. On the Niro EV, the rate costs $6,500 on a smaller loan, and the $10,000 is likely the better route for anyone who can borrow near average prime or super prime rates. Get a rate quote from your bank or credit union before choosing; it is the number that decides. The EV9 remains the case for three rows on electricity, and we compared its running cost with the Telluride, Palisade Hybrid and Grand Highlander Hybrid in July. Both programs end November 2.

Questions about this signal

Can I get 0% APR and the $10,000 Customer Cash on a Kia EV9?

No. Through November 2, 2026, Kia America offers the 2026 EV9 with either $10,000 Customer Cash toward a purchase or 0% APR for up to 60 months through Kia Finance America, which includes $5,000 APR Bonus Cash. Kia says the offers may not be combined. At 72 months the EV9's rate is 0.90%; the 0% to 72 months is on the Niro EV.

Do Kia's EV9 and Niro EV offers apply to a lease?

No. Kia's Customer Cash and APR Bonus Cash on the 2026 EV9 and Niro EV are not available on leases. Kia publishes separate lease programs on both models, and those are judged on their own terms.

Does the Kia Niro EV qualify for MyFirstEV?

Yes, for eligible first-time EV buyers and lessees in California. The California Air Resources Board lists Kia as offering MyFirstEV on new vehicles as of its September 25, 2026 update, and Kia shows $3,500 off the 2026 Niro EV. The EV9 starts at $54,900, above the program's $50,000 MSRP cap for manufacturers headquartered outside California, so it does not qualify.
